In this chapter we will think about domestic spaces, learning the vocabulary of family relations as well as the words for various rooms and furniture.
Up until now, we have only learned one of the two words for “to be” (ser). So we could say “I am a kitchen,” but not “I am in the kitchen.” In this chapter, we will learn another word for “to be”: estar. We will use estar to talk about being in a location and, in the next chapter, to describe emotions.
As always, here is a playlist to get in the right place to work with estar.
