5.12 Introducción: ¿Cuál es tu comida favorita?

¡Sí puedo! Can-Do Statements

Use vocabulary relating to foods, cooking and eating and the verb gustar to discuss food preferences.

An important reason to learn a language is to be able to talk about food.photo of empty plate

In this section, we will learn vocabulary related to food, cooking, and eating. We will also learn to talk about which foods (and other things) we like and don’t like.

As you will see, liking things in Spanish is a little trickier than liking to do things (gustar + infinitive). That is because we have to conjugate gustar for the thing or things liked, rather than the one liking them.

Don’t worry, though: “Eso es pan comido(Literally: “It’s eaten bread”: It’s a piece of cake = It is easy!)
