  2. Which word in the first sentence is an adjective?
  3. If the flower were “el narciso” (daffodil), how would you modify the adjective?
  4. In the third line, “para” means for. For whom is the poet growing a white rose?
  5. In the fourth line, “que” means “who.” “Da” is from the verb “dar,” to give. Who is “da” conjugated for? Who is doing the giving?
  6. What did the friend give the poet?
  7. “El cruel” is a cruel person. What did this cruel person tear out (arrancar)?
  8. “Cardo ni ortiga” means “neither thistle nor nettle.” So the poet is not growing thistle nor nettle “para el cruel” (for the cruel one). What is the poet growing?
